Age Restriction: 18+ Only

All participants must be 18 years of age or older to enter any competition on our platform. By creating an account or purchasing tickets, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We reserve the right to request proof of age at any time, and any person found to be under 18 will have their account suspended and any prizes forfeited.

  • We use electronic age verification where possible
  • Fraudulent age declarations will result in permanent account closure

Skill-Based Competitions

Nitrous Competitions operates skill-based prize competitions, not lotteries or gambling. Every entry requires the correct answer to a skill question. This format complies with UK competition law. However, we still encourage all participants to play responsibly and within their means.

Play Within Your Means

We encourage all participants to:

  • Set a budget — Decide how much you are comfortable spending before you start entering, and stick to it
  • Never chase losses — If you don't win, don't spend more than you planned trying to win
  • Keep it fun — Entering competitions should be enjoyable. If it stops being fun, take a break
  • Don't borrow to enter — Never use money you cannot afford to lose, and never borrow money to purchase tickets
  • Take regular breaks — Don't spend extended periods entering competitions

Self-Exclusion

If you feel you need to take a break from entering competitions, you can request a self-exclusion period. During this time, you will be unable to purchase tickets or enter any competitions. To request self-exclusion, please contact us:

Self-exclusion periods available:

  • 24 hours (cooling-off period)
  • 7 days
  • 30 days
  • 6 months
  • Permanent (account closure)

During a self-exclusion period, we will make reasonable efforts to prevent you from purchasing tickets. Any tickets purchased during a self-exclusion period may be refunded.

Spending Limits

If you would like to set a spending limit on your account, please contact our support team. We can apply daily, weekly, or monthly spending limits to help you stay within your budget.

If you recognise any of the following behaviours in yourself, we encourage you to seek support:

  • Spending more money than you can afford on competition entries
  • Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund competition entries
  • Neglecting responsibilities, work, or relationships due to competition entry
  • Feeling anxious, stressed, or irritable when not entering competitions
  • Lying to family or friends about how much you spend on competitions
  • Entering competitions to escape problems or relieve negative feelings

Our Monitoring

Nitrous Competitions monitors customer activity and may contact customers who display patterns of excessive spending. We reserve the right to limit or suspend accounts where we believe a customer's wellbeing may be at risk.
