These Competition Terms and Conditions ("Competition Terms") apply to all prize draw competitions and instant win games operated by Nitrous Competitions Ltd. By entering any competition, you agree to be bound by these Competition Terms in addition to our general Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Please read them carefully before entering.
1. The Promoter
The promoter of all competitions is:
- Company Name: Nitrous Competitions Ltd
- Company Number: 11316541 (registered in England and Wales)
- Registered Address: Unit A - 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, IP28 7DE
- Email: info@nitrouscompetitions.com
2. Eligibility
- All competitions are open to individuals aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Proof of age may be required before any prize is awarded.
- Entrants must be residents of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) unless otherwise stated on the specific competition page.
- Employees, directors, and immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling) of Nitrous Competitions Ltd, its agents, suppliers, or any company professionally connected with the promotion are not eligible to enter.
- The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of identity and age (such as a valid passport or driving licence) before awarding any prize. Failure to provide satisfactory identification within the timeframe requested will result in forfeiture of the prize.
- Only one account per person is permitted. Entrants found to be operating multiple accounts will have all entries voided and accounts suspended without refund.
3. Entry Method — Online Purchase
- Competitions are entered via our website at nitrouscompetitions.com. To enter, you must create an account, select your desired competition, choose the number of tickets you wish to purchase, and proceed to checkout.
- As part of the entry process, you must correctly answer a skill-based multiple-choice question. This question is included to ensure the competition qualifies as a prize competition under UK law (Gambling Act 2005, Section 339). Only entries with a correct answer will be included in the draw.
- Your entry is only confirmed once full payment has been received and processed. You will receive an email confirmation of your entry including your allocated ticket number(s).
- It is the entrant's responsibility to ensure all personal details (name, email, phone number, address) are accurate and up to date. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for failure to contact a winner due to incorrect details.
- Entries received after the closing date and time stated on the competition page will not be accepted.
4. Free Postal Entry Route
No purchase is necessary to enter any competition. A free entry route is available for all competitions in accordance with UK law. To enter for free via post:
- Send a postcard or sealed envelope to the following address, clearly including:
- Your full name
- Your postal address
- Your date of birth
- Your email address
- The name of the competition you wish to enter (as displayed on the website)
- Postal address for free entries:
Nitrous Competitions Ltd
Unit A - 82 James Carter Road
Mildenhall
Bury St. Edmunds
IP28 7DE
- Each postcard or sealed envelope constitutes one (1) free entry per competition. To obtain multiple free entries, separate postcards or envelopes must be sent for each entry.
- Free postal entries must be received at the above address before the stated draw date and time for the relevant competition. The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, or damaged in transit.
- Free entries are treated identically to paid entries in all respects. They carry the same chance of winning and are subject to the same draw procedures. Free entrants must still meet all eligibility requirements set out in Section 2.
- Bulk-printed, machine-generated, or third-party postal entries will not be accepted. Each entry must be handwritten or individually prepared.
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the identity of any free postal entrant and may request proof of identity before awarding a prize.
5. Ticket Pricing & Bulk Discounts
- Ticket prices vary by competition and are clearly stated on each competition page. Prices start from as little as £0.19 per ticket.
- Bulk discount tiers may be available and are displayed on the competition page (for example, buying larger quantities may reduce the per-ticket price by up to 50%). The exact discount structure is set on a per-competition basis.
- All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable and are stated in British Pounds Sterling (£).
- The Promoter reserves the right to change ticket prices at any time. Any price displayed at the time of your purchase is the price you will pay.
6. Maximum Entries
- Each competition has a maximum ticket allocation per person, which is clearly stated on the competition page. This limit exists to promote fairness and ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to win.
- The maximum entry limit applies across all entry methods combined (online paid entries and free postal entries).
- Any entries exceeding the maximum allocation will be voided and refunded (for paid entries) at the Promoter's discretion.
7. Draw Procedure — Standard Competitions
- Standard competition draws are conducted live on our Facebook page (facebook.com/nitrouscompetitions) for full transparency.
- Winners are selected using Google's random number generator (google.com > "random number generator"). A random number is generated within the range of allocated ticket numbers, and the holder of the corresponding ticket is the winner.
- Only entries where the skill-based question was answered correctly are eligible for the draw. If the randomly selected ticket number belongs to an entrant who answered incorrectly, a new number will be generated until a valid winner is found.
- Each competition has a scheduled draw date as stated on the competition page. However, the Promoter reserves the right to:
- Conduct an early draw if all tickets for the competition sell out before the scheduled date.
- Extend the draw date if minimum ticket sales thresholds have not been reached. Entrants will be notified of any date changes via email and social media.
- If a competition is cancelled for any reason, all entrants will receive a full refund of their ticket purchase price.
- Draw results, including the winning ticket number and winner's first name and surname initial, are published on our website and social media channels.
8. Instant Win Procedure
- Instant Win competitions provide an immediate result upon purchase. There is no draw date — you find out if you have won straight away.
- Winning tickets are pre-determined before the competition goes live using a certified random number allocation process. The winning ticket positions are randomly assigned before any tickets are sold.
- When you purchase a ticket and correctly answer the skill-based question, the system reveals whether your allocated ticket is a winner. If you have a winning ticket, a congratulations message is displayed on screen immediately and a confirmation email is sent.
- The Promoter guarantees that all Instant Win competitions contain the stated number of prizes. The odds of winning are determined by the total number of tickets available and the number of prizes, as stated on the competition page.
- Instant Win competitions close when all tickets have been sold or the stated end date is reached, whichever occurs first. Any unsold winning tickets at the close of the competition will be subject to a secondary draw or at the Promoter's discretion.
9. Winner Notification
- Winners will be contacted by telephone and/or email within 24 hours of the draw taking place (for standard competitions) or immediately via email (for instant wins).
- Winners must respond and claim their prize within 14 calendar days of the initial notification. The Promoter will make at least three (3) attempts to contact the winner using the details provided at the time of entry.
- If a winner fails to respond within 14 days, cannot be contacted, or is unable to satisfy the eligibility or verification requirements, the prize will be forfeited and a replacement winner will be drawn using the same procedure described in Section 7 or 8 as applicable.
- The Promoter's decision regarding winner selection is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
10. Prize Delivery
- Cash prizes are paid directly into the winner's nominated UK bank account via bank transfer (BACS/Faster Payment) within 48 hours of prize claim and identity verification.
- Physical prizes (vehicles, electronics, lifestyle items, etc.) are delivered to the winner's UK address within 7–14 working days of prize claim, unless otherwise stated. Delivery is to UK mainland addresses only; additional arrangements may be required for Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands and Islands, and other remote locations.
- For vehicle prizes, the Promoter will arrange delivery or collection from a mutually agreed location. The vehicle will be supplied as described on the competition page. Road tax, MOT (where applicable), and insurance are the winner's responsibility from the point of delivery.
- Where a cash alternative is stated on the competition page, the winner may choose to receive the cash alternative amount instead of the physical prize. The cash alternative value is fixed as stated and is not negotiable.
- Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or substituted by the winner. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond its control.
- All prizes are tax-free to the winner. The Promoter is responsible for any applicable tax liability on the prize.
11. Prize Acceptance & Publicity
- As a condition of accepting a prize, winners agree to:
- Provide valid photographic identification (passport or driving licence) and proof of age.
- Provide proof of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months).
- Participate in reasonable publicity relating to the competition, including but not limited to photographs, video content, and testimonials for use on the Promoter's website, social media channels, and marketing materials.
- If a winner does not wish to participate in publicity, they must inform the Promoter at the time of prize claim. The Promoter will use reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests but reserves the right to announce the winner's first name, surname initial, and general location (county/region).
12. Cancellation & Refunds
- Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase.
- However, by entering a competition and completing your purchase, you acknowledge and consent to the immediate supply of digital content (competition entry/ticket allocation). In accordance with Regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, this means you lose your right to cancel once the entry has been confirmed and a ticket number has been allocated.
- This cancellation exclusion is clearly presented during the checkout process, and by proceeding with payment you confirm your understanding and agreement.
- If a competition is cancelled by the Promoter before the draw takes place, all entrants will receive a full refund of their ticket purchase price within 14 working days.
- Refunds will not be issued for entries where the entrant answered the skill-based question incorrectly, as the entry was still processed and a ticket allocated.
13. Limitation of Liability
- The Promoter accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrant as a result of entering a competition or accepting a prize, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence).
- The Promoter is not responsible for any technical failures, system errors, server downtime, network issues, or any other circumstances beyond its reasonable control that may affect competition entry, draw procedures, or prize delivery.
- The Promoter shall not be liable for any entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, or corrupted, whether submitted online or by post.
- Nothing in these Competition Terms shall exclude or limit the Promoter's liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
14. Data Protection
- Personal data provided by entrants will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
- Entry data (name, email, ticket numbers) will be used for the purposes of administering the competition, contacting winners, and delivering prizes.
- With the winner's consent, their name and general location may be published for publicity purposes as described in Section 11.
- Entry lists displaying first names and ticket numbers may be published on our website for transparency purposes. No full names, email addresses, or other personal data will be included in public entry lists.
- Entrants may exercise their data protection rights (access, rectification, erasure, etc.) by contacting us at info@nitrouscompetitions.com. Please note that deleting your data may affect your ability to participate in or claim prizes from active competitions.
15. General Provisions
- The Promoter's decision in respect of all matters relating to any competition shall be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant and void their entries (without refund) if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has:
- Breached these Competition Terms or the general Terms & Conditions.
- Engaged in fraudulent, dishonest, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
- Used automated systems, bots, or scripts to enter competitions.
- Operated multiple accounts or colluded with other entrants.
- Engaged in any activity that could bring the Promoter into disrepute.
- The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Competition Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the website and, where reasonably practicable, by email to active entrants.
- If any provision of these Competition Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
- These Competition Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
- The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Competition Terms.
- These Competition Terms were last updated on the date shown at the top of this page. The version in effect at the time of your entry shall apply to that entry.
